Zimbardo Records Two Hits In Loss To USC Upstate

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Quinnipiac baseball team fell to the USC Upstate Spartans, 10-0, on Friday afternoon to kick off the OneSpartanburg, Inc. Baseball Classic.
The Bobcats will fall to 0-4 to start the 2024 season, while USC Upstate will improve to 2-3 on the campaign.

HOW IT HAPPENED
USC Upstate started the scoring in the bottom of the first inning, scratching across three runs. Grant Sherrod opened the scoring with an RBI single. Noah Sullivan followed up with an RBI line out and the Spartans got their third run off an RBI single from Koby Kropf.
The Spartans would score one run in the second and third innings to take a 5-0 lead. Jake Armsey scored a run on a triple and Sherrod scored on a flyout.
USC Upstate would score two unearned runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and scored two more times in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The Spartans scored their tenth run of the contest on an RBI single in the sixth inning and hold on for a 10-0 win.

- Frank Craska pitched two innings in relief and got four groundouts and two flyouts.
