HAMDEN, Conn. – Aisling Spillane found the back of the net as the two-seeded Quinnipiac Bobcats downed the seven-seeded Iona Gaels, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon in Hamden.

With the win, the Bobcats punched their ticket to the MAAC Semifinals as they will host the #3 seed Canisius Golden Griffins on Thursday, Nov. 7^th at 1 PM.

After a scoreless first half, Aisling Spillane found the back of the net in the 53^rd minute to get the Bobcats on the board. Courtney Chochol and Bianca D'Onofrio were credited with assists on the play.

Sofia Lospinoso turned away the lone shot she faced in the win over the Gaels as she recorded her eleventh clean sheet of the season.

NOTES

With the win, the Bobcats advanced to the MAAC Semifinals for the sixth straight season.
Aisling Spillane scored her fourth goal of the season, putting her in a tie with Rachel Roman for second on the team in goals.
Courtney Chochol notched her team leading eighth assist of the season and 36^th of her career.
Sophomore defender Bianca D'Onofrio registered her second assist as a Bobcat on the lone goal.
Sofia Lospinoso made one save en route to her 11^th clean sheet of the season, which ranks tied for 4^th in the NCAA for shutouts this season.
The Bobcats outshot the Gaels 12-5 and 4-1 in shots on goal.
Quinnipiac earned six corners, while Iona earned two.
