TOWSON, Md. – Olivia Howard scored the game-winning goal to push Quinnipiac field hockey past BIG EAST foe Georgetown, as the Bobcats downed the Hoyas, 3-2, on Friday afternoon at the Towson Field Hockey Stadium.

Along with Howard, Sophia Pompeo and Emilia Massarelli scored a goal apiece in the victory.

With the win, the Bobcats improved to 4-4 on the 2023 season and 2-1 in the BIG EAST, while Georgetown fell to 1-9 in its campaign and 0-3 in the BIG EAST.

SCORING SUMMARY

Q1 – (3:36) – Sophie Towne found Emma Van Der Veen on a streak in the offensive zone and she put it in the back of the net to put Georgetown ahead 1-0
Q1 – (6:55) – Emilia Massarelli stole the ball on a failed clear attempt, made a move into the offensive zone and shot it home to tie the match at 1-1
Q2 – (18:37) – Towne sent a feeder to Elena Leahy who beat the keeper one-on-one to put Georgetown ahead 2-1
Q2 – (21:45) – Lucia Pompeo sent a pass to the middlebox, which her sister Sophia Pompeo received. Sophia then beat the keeper on the far side to knot the game at 2-2.
Q4 – (57:57) – Katie Shanahan attempted a shot on net after a penalty corner and the keeper made a pad save. Olivia Howard corralled the loose ball and fired low and past the keeper for the game-winning goal
