HAMDEN, Conn.— Six different Bobcats score as the Bobcats defeated the Marist Red Foxes by a score of 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

Kayla Mingachos, Emely van der Vliet, Madison Mandleur, Evelyn Keay, Ella Gagno, and Milena Branco all found the back of the net for the Bobcats.

Sofia Lospinoso made two saves and Gwen Hoyt came on in relief to make a save of her own.

SCORING SUMMARY

First Half

(6' – Quinnipiac 1, Marist 0) – Off a Quinnipiac free kick, Madison Mandleur sent the ball into the box where it found the feet of Kayla Mingachos, who wasted no time and fired the ball into the back of the net.
(9' – Quinnipiac 2, Marist 0) – With Marist controlling the ball in the box, Courtney Chochol made a nice slide tackle to knock the ball free. Emely van der Vliet picked up the loose ball and sent it home to extend the lead to two.
(29' – Quinnipiac 3, Marist 0) – With Quinnipiac earning a free kick right outside the box, Madison Mandleur stepped up and fired the shot past the Marist goalkeeper to make it a three-goal lead.
(32' – Quinnipiac 4, Marist 0) – Evelyn Keay ripped a shot that hit the left post before bouncing right back to her and she used her left foot to power a shot past the goalkeeper.
(36' – Quinnipiac 5, Marist 0) – Rachel Roman made a nifty move to get into the box where she found an open Ella Gagno. Gagno found the open space and scored to give the Bobcats five goals in the first half.

Second Half

(51' – Quinnipiac 5, Marist 1) – Marist got a goal back when Amanda Caldarelli sent a shot past Lospinoso.
(65' – Quinnipiac 6, Marist 1) – Off a Quinnipiac corner, Markela Bejleri sent the ball through the box and through the legs of Chochol. Sitting behind Chochol was Milena Branco who fired the shot into the net to make it a five-goal game.

NOTES

Kayla Mingachos scored her first goal of the season and fifth of her collegiate career.
Emely van der Vliet now has goals in back-to-back games with her strike in the 9^th minute.
Madison Mandleur scored her first goal as a Bobcat with her free kick strike in the first half. She added another assist on the day to bring her season assist total to five.
Evelyn Keay scored her second goal of her first year as a Bobcat. She now has five points this season.
Gagno's goal in the 36^th minute was her first of the season and seventh of her collegiate career.
With her goal in the 65^th minute, Milena Branco now has two goals in the 2023 campaign.
Chochol now has points in nine straight games with her assist on van der Vliet's goal in the 9^th minute.
Rachel Roman recorded her first point as a Bobcat with an assist in the game.
Bejleri's assist was her second the season and pushed her season points total to eight.
Six goals are the most the Bobcats have scored all season and most they have scored since last season when they beat Siena, 7-1 (09/28/22).
