Three Bobcats Sit Within Top-20 After Day One at Hoya Invitational

ROCKVILLE, MD. – Quinnipiac golf junior Kaylee Sakoda led Quinnipiac to a fourth place finish after day one at the Hoya Invitational, hosted by Georgetown on Saturday afternoon at the Woodmont Country Club.
Sakoda led a Bobcat group that saw three competitors place within the top-20 after two rounds, as Fuge Zhang tied for 10th and Leeyen Peralta tied for 10th.
The Bobcats sit in fourth place among 13 teams after shooting 312-303–615 (+39) to close the first day of the tournament. Princeton sits in first place after shooting 598 (+22), eight strokes ahead of Boston University.
Sakoda sits in fourth place after shooting 77-71–148 (+4). Zhang followed by tying for 10th place. Zhang shot 74 (+2) in the first round and followed with a 78 (+6) in the second round to close with 152 (+8). Peralta rounded Quinnipiac's top-20 day one finishers, tying for 19th place after shooting 78-76–154 (+10).
Aimee Uchida and Elena Lopez rounded out QU's grouping, tying for 47th and placing 68th respectively. Uchida shot 83-78–161 (+17), while Lopez shot 93-89–182 (+38) to close day one. Meg Yoshida participated as an individual and tied for 43rd after shooting an 81-79–160 (+16).
The Bobcats will be back in action on Sunday, April 10, when they close competition at the Georgetown Invitational, held at the Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Maryland.
