
Peralta Holds First After Two Rounds at Low Country Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, SC – Junior golfer Leeyen Peralta sits in first place to lead the Quinnipiac golf team after day one of competition at the Low Country Intercollegiate, hosted by Wofford on Saturday afternoon at the Moss Creek Golf Club.
The Bobcats sit in fifth place of 16 teams after shooting 304-301–605 (+29) after day one. Princeton sits in first place after shooting 296-292–588 (+12), nine strokes ahead of second-place USC Upstate.
Quinnipiac had two of its competitors finish within the top-25, led by Peralta, who sits in first. Aiming for her third first-place finish of the season and second of the spring, Peralta shot 72-67–142 (-2) over 36 holes played.
Fuge Zhang followed, tying for 22nd after the two rounds. Zhang shot 74 (+2) in the first round and followed with a 79 (+7) in the second round to finish 153 (+9). Aimee Uchida and Mia Grzywinski finished tied for 38th, respectively. Uchida shot 77-79–156 (+12), while Grzywinski concluded the day shooting 78-78–156 (+12).
Kaylee Sakoda rounded out QU's grouping, tying for 45th. Sakoda shot 80-77–157 (+13). Elena Lopez participated as an individual and finished in 58th after shooting an 82-80–162 (+18).
The Bobcats will be back in action on Sunday, March 20, when they close competition at the Low Country Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford, held at the Moss Creek Golf Course in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
