HAMDEN, CT – Quinnipiac men's soccer used a late man down goal from Jason Budhai to beat the Fairfield Stags, 3-2, on Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats scored two goals in the second half, David Bercedo in the 59^th minute and Jason Budhai in the 72^nd minute, to secure the victory for Quinnipiac.

Karl Netzell made three saves in the winning effort for the Bobcats.

QUINNIPIAC SCORING SUMMARY
First Half

(20' – Quinnipiac 1, Fairfield 0): Domen Bozic forced a Fairfield turnover and took control of the ball. Bozic dribbled the ball just outside the box before firing a shot into the back of the net to get the Bobcats on the board first.
(34' – Quinnipiac 1, Fairfield 1): Thomas Drillen of Fairfield brought the game even late into the first half.

Second Half

(59' – Quinnipiac 2, Fairfield 1): Alexander Stjerngaard got the return pass from Jared Smith at the top of the box. Stjerngaard sent in a shot and it was redirected off the touch from David Bercedo to beat the Fairfield defense and goalkeeper to give the Bobcats a one goal lead early into the second half.
(67' – Quinnipiac 2, Fairfield 2): Alex Oliveira picked up Fairfield's second goal of the game to make the game tied at two. Raz Amir and Lenni Mierow were rewarded with the assists.
(72' – Quinnipiac 3, Fairfield 2): With Quinnipiac playing down a man due to a red card, Alexander Stjerngaard got the ball of a Fairfield turnover. Stjerngaard sent a gorgeous pass to a streaking Jason Budhai who ran the ball down into the box before sending the ball past the Fairfield keeper.

NOTES

The Bobcats outshot the Stags 8-7, with the shots on goal being 6-5 in favor of the Bobcats.
This win is Quinnipiac's seventh win against the Stags since 2013 and their first win since April 14^th, 2021.
Domen Bozic scored his first goal of the season and second of his college career.
David Bercedo''s goal was his seventh of the season, which is tops on the team.
Jason Budhai's game winning goal was his third goal of the season and second game winning goal of his career.
