Bobcats Drop OT Contest vs. Northeastern

Holle, Bercedo Both Score for QU
HAMDEN, Conn. – Alex Holle and David Bercedo both scored for the Bobcats on Saturday afternoon at the QU Soccer Stadium, as Quinnipiac fell vs. Northeastern by the final score of 3-2 in OT.
Holle scored in the 24th minute to even the game 1-1, then Bercedo tied the contest once again in the 38th minute of play.
Benjamin Klingen netted the game-winner for the Huskies 3:10 into the first overtime.

FIRST HALF
(14' – Northeastern 1, Quinnipiac 0): Dan Munch got the Huskies on the board first, scoring 13:20 into action to make it 1-0.
(24' – Northeastern 1, Quinnipiac 1): Alex Holle scored his first goal of the season just over 10 minutes later to even things at 1. Brage Aasen played a corner kick into the box – which reached Holle on the far side – then the senior settled and finished into the left side of the net.
(26' – Northeastern 2, Quinnipiac 1): Benjamin Klingen scored his first of the game just moments later, giving Northeastern its second lead of the game.
(38' – Northeastern 2, Quinnipiac 2): David Bercedo found the back of the net for the Bobcats in the 38th minute of play. Jordon Bennett played the ball up the right side, then crossed in a beautiful feed to Bercedo – who finished with his right foot as he was falling to the ground to tie the game once again.

- Alex Holle's goal is his fourth career score. The senior scored one in 2018 as a First Year student, then scored twice in the spring 2021 season as a junior. Holle now has nine career points with the Bobcats.
- Junior David Bercedo scored his second goal of the season. He now has two goals and two assists for six total points through seven games this year.
- Brage Aasen chipped in with his first helper of the year, setting up Holle's goal.
- Jordon Bennett's assist is his third of the year – a team-best mark thus far.
- Shots were 14-10 in favor of Northeastern.
- Quinnipiac keeper Antreas Hadjigavriel made five saves.
- The Bobcats are now 1-5 all-time vs. Northeastern (Division I History).
- Quinnipiac will now turn its attention to MAAC play, as the Bobcats host Siena on Wednesday, Sept. 29 at the QU Soccer Stadium in Hamden.
