Abbey Terpstra Tallies Four Conversions in the Win
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's rugby used a strong second half to defeat Sacred Heart, 33-12, on Friday afternoon. After outscoring the Pioneers, 12-5, in the first half, the Bobcats got the offense going, taking the second half, 21-7.
Four different Bobcats recorded tries, led by two in the second half by Libby Moser. Addison Walker, Allison Koenig and Haley Crow tallied one try each. That was Crow's first career try for Quinnipiac.
Abbey Terpstra was 4-of-5 on her conversion attempts for the Bobcats.
12 different Quinnipiac players recorded a tackle in the victory, led by four each by Gracie Cartwright and Hazel Bice.
Four Bobcats tallied runs of 20, led by Koenig, who had three. Grace Martin, Crow and Matja Saarenheimo-Vanderhorst each had one.
Quinnipiac scored the first 12 points in Friday's matchup before Sacred Heart added a try with no time left on the clock in the first half. The Pioneers added another try and successful conversion in the beginning of the second half, but the Bobcats closed out the match with three consecutive tries and conversions.
