Sakoda Sets Course Record in Win

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sophomore Kaylee Sakoda set the new course record at H. Smith Richardson Golf Course in Fairfield on Wednesday as the Quinnipiac women's golf team defeated Fairfield and St. John's in a tri-match.

Sakoda recorded a -4, 68, en route to the individual title, continuing her tremendous start to the season with her career-best score.

As a team, the Bobcats posted a 308 to defeat St. John's by three strokes and Fairfield by 14.

SCORES AND NOTES

Sakoda's 68 is tied for the second-lowest score in program history, behind Luciana Tobia's 65 at the Dartmouth Invitational.
Elena Lopez and Mia Grzywinski tallied matching 79s to tie for sixth in the event.
Co-Captain Elena Ybarra posted a score of 80, while Leeyen Peralta and Darby Lillibridge were one shot behind Ybarra with a pair of 81s.
Amanda Tully (84) and Emily Luu (91) rounded out the field for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats head to Gilette Ridge Golf Course for another Hartford Invitational on Sunday, April 18. The action starts at 9 a.m. in Bloomfield, Conn.
