Rodriguez Wins D Singles Title at West Point Invite

Rodriguez Earns 100th Career Win in Tournament

WEST POINT, NY – Layla Rodriguez won two more singles matches on Sunday, Sept. 29, winning the main draw D Singles title during Day 3 of the 2019 West Point Invite.

Rodriguez earned her 100th career victory during a semifinal win to begin the day, then defeated Lehigh's Zong in the championship contest of D Singles.

Day 1 Notes:

Amy Zammarieh won two matches in the E Singles bracket to advance to the quarterfinals of the bracket tomorrow on Day 2. Kamilla Nella, Jordan Bradley and Layla Rodriguez also each won a match in their respective singles bracket for the Bobcats.
Kamilla Nella earned a three-set win in C Singles, downing Eisenberg of Binghamton 5-7, 7-4, 4-0 to move on. She earned both a singles and doubles win in the 2019 Quinnipiac Invitational in Hamden, giving her three wins so far on the season.
Jordan Bradley defeated Marist's Price in D Singles. She now has two match wins in 2019-20.
Layla Rodriguez also earned a three-set win in D Singles, good for her third win of the year.
Amy Zammarieh won two matches in the E Singles bracket – both in two sets. She now has three wins in 2019-20.

Day 2 Notes:

Layla Rodriguez defeated Singh of FDU in three sets during Day 2 of the tournament, earning her second win of the tournament in D Singles. She then won 8-6 vs. Columbia's Rahman, advancing to the semifinals of the Main Draw D Flight.
Andie Williams earned a pair of wins in C Singles consolation action, advancing to the semifinal round of the bracket on Sunday during Day 3 of the tournament.

Day 3 Notes:

With two more wins and a D Singles title, Rodriguez now has six total wins in 2019-20
Andie Williams earned a semifinal win to begin the day in the consolation bracket of D Singles, giving her five total wins so far in her freshman campaign.
