HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's soccer fell vs. Rider, 2-0, in MAAC play on Saturday afternoon at the QU Soccer Stadium in Hamden.

With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 5-4-0 (1-1-0 MAAC) so far in 2019. Quinnipiac attempted a season-high 30 shots in the contest.

SCORING SUMMARY

Second Half

(84' – Rider 1, Quinnipiac 0): Ailis Martin gave the Broncs the lead with under six minutes left in regulation, finding the back of the net on a ball from Kaitlyn Siciliano.
(85' – Rider 2, Quinnipiac 0): Sophia Soares made it 2-0, scoring just 1:11 later to extend the lead. Valeria Pasquet played a ball in from the right side, and Soares was able to head the ball in to make it 2-0.

NOTES

The Bobcats outshot Rider 13-3 in the first half. Quinnipiac generated multiple good scoring chances, including a Grade A chance in the first minute of the contest. Kelsey Goldring blasted a shot off the right post, then Olivia Scott one-touched a shot just wide of the net.
Total shots were 30-9 in favor of Quinnipiac, as the Bobcats held the advantage in shots on goal 15-5.
Freshman Meaghan Phillips turned in another solid performance, making three saves in her eighth start of the season.
The Bobcats attempted 11 corner kicks in the contest.
