Women's Tennis Upended by Fairfield in MAAC Title Match

WEST WINDSOR, NJ – Quinnipiac women's tennis fell in the title contest of the 2019 MAAC Tournament vs. No. 2. Fairfield, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon at the Mercer County Tennis Center.
With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 11-14 on the season. Quinnipiac swept all three doubles matches to earn the first point of the day, and Jennifer Lu and Kamilla Nella each earned a singles win for the Bobcats. Fairfield won in No. 1, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to clinch the title.
Quinnipiac is now 54-1 in conference play since joining the MAAC in 2013. The Bobcats have won 43 consecutive regular season MAAC contests (longest active Division I streak).

- Jennifer Lu earned her 14th singles win of the season, making quick work of Mullaney in No. 2 singles play (6-0, 6-2). Lu won in dominating fashion, picking up a point for the Bobcats in two sets by the score of 6-1, 6-0.
- Kamilla Nella won her 16th contest of the season, and is now 6-1 in 2018-19 vs. MAAC opponents. She won No. 3 singles 6-2, 7-5 over March.
- Proyfon Lohaphaisan and Dominique Vasile move to 10-8 overall as a tandem with the doubles victory.
- Kamilla Nella and Payton Bradley won their fifth doubles match as a duo, earning a 5-3 victory.
- Jennifer Lu and Layla Rodriguez are now 7-3 in doubles action so far this year. The duo has gone 5-0 in doubles matches vs. MAAC opponents this season.
