Trailing 7-2 entering the ninth inning, Andre Marrero (West Springfield, Massachusetts) led off the top of the ninth inning with a solo home run to kick off the comeback. Brian Moskey (Higganum, Connecticut) sandwiched a walk in between a pair before the Bobcats rallied with two outs in the inning.
Samuel LaChance (Dover, New Hampshire) walked to put runners on first and second before Derek Kasperzyk (Killingworth, Connecticut) pinch-ran for LaChance. Evan Vulgamore (Bow, New Hampshire) doubled down the right field line to score Moskey before Dylan Lutz (Denver, Colorado) doubled down the left field line to score both Kasperzyk and Vulgamore. Kyle Maves (Burlington, Ontario) pinch ran for Lutz and was singled home by Ian Ostberg (Northampton, Massachusetts).
After Anthony Ambrosino (Howard Beach, New York) got the Bobcats through the ninth and into the 10th, Anthony Cruz (Burlington, Massachusetts) launched a go-ahead home run for the first of his career in the top of the 10th inning to take an 8-7 lead. Quinnipiac could not hold the lead, as Toledo rallied for two runs in the bottom of the 10th to take the win.
Cruz, Ostberg and Vulgamore were all 3 for 5 in Friday's showdown at the Spider Invitational as Cruz belted his second home run. Marrero's ninth inning blast was his second home run of the season.
