QU Acrobatics and Tumbling Cruises To Home Win Over Glenville State

HAMDEN, Connecticut – The Quinnipiac acrobatics & tumbling team defeated Glenville State 280.435-237.550, in an event-sweeping National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association meet at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Connecticut. With the victory, the Bobcats move to 3-2 on the season and the Pioneers fall to 2-3.
Compulsory Event
Quinnipiac jumped out to a commanding lead through the Compulsory event, 37.15-29.95. The Bobcats grabbed wins in all four heats of the event winning the Acro (8.90-7.15), Pyramid (9.80-9.40), Toss (9.95-9.20) and Tumbling (8.50-4.20) heats.
Jenna Adams (Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey), Allee Tallman (Farmington, New York) and Noelle Brasier (Simi Valley, California) competed in all four of the the heats in the compulsory, contributing to the Bobcats' sweep.
Acro Event
The Bobcats continued their impressive afternoon with another victory in the acro event, 29.60-27.40. Quinnipiac was led by an impressive six-element heat by Kelsey Rule (Kendall Park, New Jersey), Siobhan Robinson (Palm Harbor, Florida), Erin Redding (Farmington, Connecticut) and Jocelyn Saber (Redding, Connecticut). which scored an event-high 9.90.
Pyramid Event
Quinnipiac ended the first half of the meet on another high note with a 29.70-27.45 victory over Glenville State in the pyramid event. The victory completed a first-half sweep of events for the Bobcats and gave them a 96.85-84.80 lead heading into halftime.
The Bobcats executed a perfect 10.00 score in the third heat of the pyramid heat led by Abby Ziser (Pompton Plains, New Jersey), Jenna Capristo (Wolcott, Connecticut), Adams, Tallman and Brasier.
Toss Event
Quinnipiac started the second half of the meet impressively with a 29.40-26.30 victory in the Toss Event, which gave it a running-total lead of 125.85-111.1 after four events.The Bobcats had a stellar performance in the open heat when Rule, Tallman, Adams, Brasier and Capristo combined to score a 9.90 in the final heat of the toss event.
Tumbling Event
The Bobcats continued their event-winning streak with a 54.525-46.500 win in the tumbling event over the Pioneers, pushing their running-total lead to 180.375-157.600.
Quinnipiac scored big in the duo-pass heat as Rule and Capristo scored a 9.55.
Team Event
The Bobcats finished off a complete six-event sweep on the day with a strong 100.60-79.95 victory in the team event, solidifying their meet victory with a 280.435-237.55 final total.
Quinnipiac will return to action on Saturday, April 1st, when they welcome in Fairmont State University for a meet at the TD Bank Sports Center at 2 p.m., before traveling to Erie, Pennsylvania to finish up their regular season against Gannon University the following weekend.
