
QU Women's Tennis Earns Shutout Over Saint Peter's For 40th Straight MAAC Win

HAMDEN, Conn. - Freshman Courtney Nash won in both singles and doubles to help the Quinnipiac women's tennis team to a 7-0 win over Saint Peter's on Saturday afternoon at the Quinnipiac Outdoor Tennis Courts. The win improved the Bobcats to 2-0 in the MAAC this season, and marked their 40th win in a row against MAAC opponents (including tournaments) since joining the league in 2013-14.

- Quinnipiac has never lost a MAAC match on its way to four straight conference titles. The Bobcats were 8-0 in the regular season in their first two seasons in the league and 7-0 in the last two, while winning all eight conference tournament matches as well.
- The Bobcats did not lose a single game in doubles, taking 6-0 wins at both No. 1 and No. 2 and earning a default win at No. 3. Quinnipiac also lost only five games in singles.
- Freshmen Stephanie Yanosov and Courtney Nash won at No. 1 doubles, while junior Alexandra Mircea and sophomore Amy Zammarieh won at No. 2 doubles.
- Nash was the only doubles winner to play in singles as well, earning a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles, her second win by the identical score this week after also winning 6-1, 6-0 against Sacred Heart on Thursday.
- Yanosov and Mircea picked up default wins at No. 5 and No. 6.
- Sophomore Layla Rodriguez played her first match at No. 1 singles this year and picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win.
- Junior Proyfon Lohaphaisan was perfect at No. 2 singles, earning a 6-0, 6-0 win.
- Freshman Scarlett Blydenburgh won in singles for the second time this week with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3.
- Lohaphaisan and Blydenburgh earned a default win at No. 3 doubles.
- Both Quinnipiac men's and women's tennis teams wore pink as part of their annual breast careness awareness day.
