BLOOMFIELD, Connecticut – The Quinnipiac University women's golf team won the Hartford Invitational at Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Bobcats freshman Luciana Tobia (La Paz, Bolivia) took medalist honors after leading the field of 42 golfers through two rounds.
"This was a great victory. Luciana Tobia was a medalist after shooting two great rounds," head coach John O'Connor said. "I'm very proud of her. The whole team really did very well. Julia Kemmling had two great rounds and Caitlan Blydenburgh in her first tournament back shot a great round today. Of course our captain Jenn Whaley was great as well."
Tobia shot a two-day tournament-best 75 (+3) on Saturday, before following with a 78 (+6) on the second day. For Tobia, it beat her career-best 36-hole score of 156 that she shot at the Lady Eagle Cat Invitational on Mar. 13-14. Additionally, it her fifth top-10 finish in her last six tournaments and seventh in 10 career events.

Whaley shot a season-best 77 on Saturday before following with an 80 on Sunday to turn in a 157 (+13), for her third best score of her career.
"This is a great win for our program, we beat seven very good teams, and I'm looking forward to our match-play event at Yale next week and the MAAC Championship coming up."
