
Four Players Win Two Matches Each in QU Men's Tennis' 7-0 Sweep of Wagner

HAMDEN, Connecticut – Four different Bobcats picked up two wins each as the Quinnipiac men's tennis team swept the Wagner Seahwaks, 7-0, Wednesday afternoon at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
As a team, the Bobcats have now won 100 singles matches this season with six players winning 10 or more matches. Quinnipiac picked up its second straight win of the season to improve to 9-6 while the Seahawks lost their fourth straight match to fall to 6-7.
Kei Ezaka (Ojai, California) picked up his 95th career victory and 25th of the season as he looks to become the second Bobcat this season to record 100 career wins. Willem van Biezen (Warmond, The Netherlands) became the second Quinnipiac men's tennis player to win 30 matches this season as he broke his previous single-season career high of 29 wins set last season.
Julian Rozenstein (Marlboro, New Jersey) joined Ezaka in winning his 25th match of the season with his 18th win at singles and seventh at doubles while Jonas Kuwert (Jesteberg, Germany) won his 18th match of the season, including his 10th in singles play.
Ezaka and Rozenstein teamed up in doubles for the first time this season as they cruised to the 6-2 victory over Allen Wang and John Andersson at No. 3 doubles. Shortly after, Kuwert and van Biezen picked up a 6-2 victory of their own at No. 1 doubles, knocking off Dale Sandy and Eric Poland. Charlton Boyd and Ilya Kneppelhout took the No. 2 doubles match over Luke Roser (Bernardsville, New Jersey) and Ryoma Haraguchi (New York, New York), 6-4, to stop the complete sweep.
Quinnipiac continued its dominance in singles, winning all six matches in straight sets. Haraguchi was the first match complete at No. 6 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Jeremy Nuss followed by Roser's win at No. 5 singles over Wang, 6-2, 6-1. Kuwert picked up his second win of the day at No. 3 singles as he beat Poland, 6-3, 6-1 and van Biezen finished just afterwards with the win over Boyd, 6-1, 6-3. With the match firmly in hand, Ezaka defeated Sandy, 6-4, 6-2 before Rozenstein finished off the singles sweep with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Kneppelhout.
The Quinnipiac men's tennis team returns to action on Monday, March 28 when they travel down to Sacred Heart to take on the Pioneers in Fairfield, Conn. at 3 PM.
