
QU Women's Tennis Hosts Stony Brook for Final Home Match of 2014-15 Season, Travel to Marist on Wednesday

The Quinnipiac women's tennis team hosts the Stony Brook Seawolves in the final non-conference match and final home match of the 2014-15 season at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts at 2 P.M. before traveling to the Marist Red Foxes on Wednesday at 3 P.M.
Scouting the Seawolves
Stony Brook comes into Tuesday's matchup with an impressive 11-1 record and 4-0 mark in conference play. The Seawolves have won six consecutive matches, including a win over No. 43 Brown, since falling to No. 36 Harvard on March 6. Stony Brook has swept three of its last four opponents. Every player has at least nine victories and a record well above .500, led by Kristina Vozniak's 18 wins with a 4-1 record in No. 1 singles. Elizabeth Tsevtkov also is tied with Vozniak for 18 wins and a 4-1 mark in No. 3 singles. Polina Movchan has just 11 wins but is 6-1 in No. 1 singles. Louise Badoche and Nadia Smergut lead the team with 12 doubles wins, including a 6-3 record in No. 1 doubles. Movchan and Yana Nikolaeva have also been one of the top doubles teams, going 8-2 overall with a 7-1 mark in No. 2 doubles.
Scouting the Red Foxes
Marist heads into Wednesday's matchup with a 4-10 record with all four of its wins coming in conference play and a 4-1 record. The Red Foxes have won four of the last six matches but split the last two. Karly Pang has been an impressive 10-5 at No. 1 singles so for this season while Marielle Campbell Is 8-8 with a 6-4 record at No. 3 single. In doubles play, Campbell and Katherine Seitz as well as Melissa Carlay and Kaye Eastman have each won five matches. Campbell and Seitz are 5-5 at No. 3 doubles while Carlay and Eastman are No. 2 doubles
Last Time Out for the Bobcats
The Bobcats swept a pair of conference matchups against the Rider Broncs and Siena Saints with 7-0 wins in each contest. The Bobcats picked up their sixth win in their last seven matches.
Incredible Numbers
Senior Jacqueline Raynor (Garden City, New York) tied Jessica Uccello '00 for second all-time in program history with the 159th victory of her career. Raynor has now won 14 straight matches dating back to her last loss on March 17 vs. Iowa State. Raynor is also approaching her mark for overall wins in a single-season with 44 and doubles wins in a season with 25 as she has won 38 overall matches and 24 doubles matches so far in 2014-15.
Century Mark Achieved
Fellow senior Ariana Launie (Milton, Massachusetts) recorded the 100th victory of her career Saturday afternoon, becoming the 19th player in program history and third active member of the 100-win club. Launie has now won 20 victories this season.
A Few More Achievements
Junior Sophia Dzulynsky (Miramar, Florida) recorded the 70th win of her career while Sydney Young (Austin, Texas) also crossed the 70-win total with her 31st victory of the season.
Best Tennis of the Year
The Bobcats have been playing some of their best tennis yet, having won six of the last seven matches to change the outlook of their season. The Bobcats are 9-7 and a perfect 5-0 in MAAC play after the weekend sweep.
Undefeated in the MAAC
Since joining the MAAC prior to the 2013-14 season, the Bobcats have not lost a match to a MAAC opponent. The Bobcats were 10-0 last season, including a perfect 8-0 regular season conference record. This season, Quinnipiac has won all five of its conference matches, pushing its conference winning streak to 15 games.
MAAC Preseason Poll
The Bobcats were selected to repeat as MAAC Women's Tennis Champions as they received all nine first place votes to command 81 points in the MAAC Women's Tennis Preseason Coaches' Poll. Last season, the Bobcats cruised to their first conference championship in their new conference. The Bobcats then faced the Stanford Cardinal in the NCAA Tournament, but fell in the first round.

The Bobcats will continue the three game trip road for the final two matches of the season, starting with the Saint Peter's Peacocks on Friday at 3 P.M. followed by a morning matchup with the Monmouth Hawks on Saturday at 11 A.M.
