Less than 10 minutes into the game, senior Jennifer Salomon (Garnerville, N.Y.) fed Elena Orlando (Winters, Calif.) for the first score. After the Bobcats stole the scrum from CWU they had their own at the opposing five yard line. Shannon Durkin (Oakland, Calif.) secured the ball and ran it in for the second Bobcat try of the afternoon. Graduate student Aine McKeever (Derry City, Ireland) converted the kick to take a 12-0 lead.
Central Washington got on the board late in the first frame after a scrum led to a wide out ball score. The try was followed by a missed conversion, making the score 12-5.
Quinnipiac scored for the third time just minutes before time expired. Freshman Rebecca Haight (Oconomowoc, Wisc.) scored her second try of the season after recording her first career score against EIU. Salomon was credited with her second assist of the day and the Bobcats entered the break with a 17-5 lead.
