The Quinnipiac women's golf team finished 16th out of 17 teams at the 2013 Yale Women's Golf Intercollegiate Tournament at The Course at Yale in New Haven, Conn.
"We had a somewhat disappointing day, although the conditions were rough," head coach John O'Connor said. "Pin placement was especially difficult and the course was playing very long. The course was very difficult to begin with, and we ended up playing it very wet today, so the ball did not roll and all of the holes seemed longer."

Quinnipiac freshman Nicole Scola (Westerly, R.I.) led the Bobcats with an 80 on the third day to give her a 229, good for a tie of 21st place out of 91 golfers. Scola's score breaks the Quinnipiac record for a 54-hole tournament, previously held by Kayla Ketcheson who shot a 242 at the 2013 Northeast Conference Championship. As a team, the Bobcats shot a 989 - good for the second-lowest team score at a 54-hole event since Quinnipiac 979 at the 2013 NEC's.
"Nicole Scola is probably somewhat disappointed, but there are a lot of positives from her round," O'Connor said. "Jenn Forlenza played well again, and she continues to prove she can play at this level. Emily Ribbins' golf is improving and she will be an important part of this team."
Jenn Whaley (Farmington, Conn.) shot an 84 for the third round, giving her a 248 for the weekend. Freshman Emily Ribbins (Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands), playing in her first collegiate event, finished at 253 (81-83-89) for the weekend. Jenn Forlenza (Wayne, N.J.) shot an 85 for a three-day 259 for her personal-best 54-hole score in her career. Angela Muscatelli North Providence, R.I.) improved by four strokes on her second-day total to shoot a 90 on the final round for a three-day total of 274.
The Bobcats return to action on Oct. 7-8 when they compete in the St. John's Invitational at Eisenhower Park White Course in East Meadow, N.Y.
