Bobcats Set Program-Best Single Round Score at Atlantic Invitational

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – Quinnipiac women's golf got off to a hot start at the Atlantic Invitational, scoring a 282 to set a new program record for the lowest team score after a single round. After the first day of competition, the Bobcats sit in eighth place out of 12 teams after day one at the tournament held at the Indian Spring Country Club Monday afternoon.
The Bobcats saw two golfers sit within the top-15 after the first two rounds of play, as Leeyen Peralta and Kaylee Sakoda sit tied for 13th place after shooting an even 142.
QU opened the tournament in eighth place among 12 teams after shooting 575 (+7) for the event. Florida Gulf Coast sits in first place after carding 562 (-5), just one stroke ahead of Troy.
The Bobcats got off to a hot start, shooting 282 (-2) to set a new single-round program record for best team score. Quinnipiac saw three players shoot for par or better in the opening round, led by Peralta scoring a 67 (-4) in the round.
Both Peralta and Sakoda are tied for 13th after scoring even 142 after 36 holes of play. Aimee Uchida narrowly trails at 143 (-1), sitting tied for 21st. Fuge Zhang (T-40th) and Meg Yoshida (T-52nd) rounded out Quinnipiac's grouping at 148 (+6) and 153 (+11), respectively.
The Bobcats will be back in action on Tuesday, Feb. 21, when they conclude play at the Atlantic Invitational.
