Bobcats Walk it Off Against Bryant in 10 Innings, 5-4

HAMDEN, Conn. – It was a full team effort as the Quinnipiac baseball team walked it off at home against non-conference foe Bryant, 6-5 in 10 innings, on Wednesday afternoon at the Quinnipiac Baseball Field.
With the win the Bobcats improved to 11-24 on the season, while the Bulldogs fell to 18-20 on the campaign with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bobcats struck first in the second inning to jump out to an early advantage in the contest. With the bases loaded in the frame, Keegan O'Connor got hit by a pitch, then Andrew McDermott drew a bases loaded walk to give Quinnipiac a 2-0 lead. McGwire Tuffy grounded into a fielder's choice, but Michael Kohn scored on the play to increase the lead to 3-0. Later in the inning, a Bryant wild pitch allowed a fourth run top score for the Bobcats to give QU an early 4-0 lead.
The Bulldogs responded with a run of their own in the third inning and three in the fifth to tie the contest at 4-4.
Nine innings wasn't enough time to decide a winner, as the teams carried a 4-4 tie into extra innings. In the bottom of the 10th with runners on first and second, Jared Zimbardo delivered on an RBI single to walk it off for the Bobcats to secure the 5-4 victory.
