Maves Tallies Two Hits in Bobcats' Loss at #9 NC State

RALEIGH, NC – McGwire Tuffy and Michael Kohn led the offense with an RBI apiece, as the Quinnipiac baseball team fell short against No. 9 NC State, 10-4, in the opener of a three-game set Friday evening on Doak Field at Dail Park.
The Bobcats fell to 1-3 on the 2022 campaign with the loss, while the Wolfpack improved to 6-0 with the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 2-0 after three innings, the Bobcats were able to muster across two runs in the fourth to tie the contest at 2-2. With runners in scoring position, Tuffy lined an RBI single to right to score Anthony Donofrio from third. While Maves scored, Tuffy got caught in between first and second base, allowing Kyle Maves to score.
The Wolfpack responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning before QU plated a run in the fifth to trim the deficit to 7-3. However, NC State added three runs in the fifth before holding on for the 10-4 victory.
